I have complete my PhD studies with a successful defense on 31 July, 2010. I started my PhD in December 2006. My PhD studies were carried out under the supervision of Cordelia Schmid at the LEAR (Learning and Recognition in Vision) team at INRIA Grenoble in France. The main topic of my work was the recognition and localization of human actions performed in realistic video settings, such as Hollywood movies. To find out more about my, work please have a look at the research page.

Prior to my PhD studies, I completed my Master of Science studies in October 2006 in the Computer Science Departement at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in Sankt Augustin, Germany (close to Bonn and not far away from Cologne).

As of November 2010, I started an industrial position in the Open Source domain with the company Univention providing the Linux business distribution Univention Corporate Server. We are located in Bremen, Germany.

My personal blog/homepage is located at http://alexklaeser.de. There you can find some news about myself and some music projects that I worked on in my spare time.
